High School Reunion Help

Last night on a private Facebook conversation a friend mentioned that our next high school reunion is on the calendar for 2013. For most women, this sends a shudder up the spine. Here’s where mom’s nutritional guidance and Noevir skincare products are a great boon when facing events like this.

At the twenty-year reunion, the delegation of the “popular and sought after” sent one of their own in my direction. She reported, “Everyone’s talking about how great your skin looks.” Of course, no one sought me out to learn if I had some secrets they might want to adopt. Last night on Facebook, Roberta leaped forward 20+ years and upgraded that “great” to “gorgeous.” Thankfully, good habits pay it forward even after you have been out of high school nearly 45 years! WOW~

While perusing the shelves at the library, I did find a volume to restore hope to those who observe, but don’t inquire!  Through short-term resolve anyone can kick in to “lose 20 years in 30 days,” the subtitle to Dr. David Colbert’s book, The High School Reunion Diet. After reading the book, here’s the bottom line for making wise food choices.

If you can buy it using a coupon, don’t put it in your mouth!

So what should you eat to turn heads and inspire whispered admiration at your high school reunion?

As you know, the store never offers coupons on the really good stuff—like deep greens—kale, collards, mustard, and dandelion greens! You well might want to consider these the backbone of your nutritional food plan. Don’t gag! Please!

Let’s look at some more recommendations. Some of the most expensive produce in the market like blueberries, raspberries and organic strawberries provide some of the best nutrients for your body!

Fish is another resource not to be over looked. I notice the front page of the Seattle Times promises that Copper River Salmon will arrive this week at Top Foods. You can bet that the price point will hover somewhere around $12-15 per pound—and it’s one of the best Omega-3 sources on the planet! On the economy side, sardines and mackerel are great building blocks for beautiful skin as well!

Raw nuts like walnuts and almonds are valuable sources of protein and good fats. Want to have a keen mind like my 92 year-old mom? Make walnuts your snack of choice like my parents did. These brain-shaped nuts will improve your skin and keep your mind finely tuned to reality!

Thumbs down on soda pop, meat and potatoes, and corn. Have you noticed corn comes in just about everything? Well—that will simplify shopping. Oh yes, and if it contains sugar, just cross it off the list, too. Sugar makes your skin tough, darkened and leathery! You might say that if it comes with a label and a bar code, it’s marketing—not fuel for your body.

The dust jacket promises what every reunion attendee dreams about! Want to “restore that fresh, young glow to your skin… lose the weight… double your energy, recover your youth?”  The High School Reunion Diet should be your next read.

Before you begin tossing bar code decorated boxes of faux food into your shopping cart, stop by your library and check out The High School Reunion Diet!

At your next reunion, the delegated rep just might stop by your table to offer two thumbs up on your fresh, youthful appearance! Start today! The time is NOW!

  1. Laughing because our daughter Suzanne just purchased a kid’s indoor basketball hoop for her little boy–with a coupon! Samuel–don’t put it in your mouth!
