How does God show up in your life?

What do you know about yourself today that you didn’t know yesterday?

A recent treasure mapping experience revealed, I am a salvager! The evidence is spotlighted this morning in my newly rearranged living room.

Wish I had taken “before” pictures of this little table Debby Sutherland gave me with it’s broken shelf and scuffed finish. I think she told me Jay’s uncle built it, perhaps in a shop class. It had been in her living room for years as the base for a plywood circle draped to the floor by a pretty tablecloth. When she moved, it was destined for the thrift store. I begged. She said, “Take it.” Clark did his magic on it!

Doesn’t it look lovely angled between these two designer chairs toe to toe with the Pottery Barn rug? Oh yes, it’s playing parking garage for my collection of Jags! Jay would like that.

I think that is what God does with people. He searches for broken people and asks permission to transform them through the power of his grace and Christ’s sacrifice. He brings us out of our disgrace where we have been cowering from view. He stages us in settings where we become promotional pieces for his grace and truth.

How does God show up in your life? What are you discovering about you?
