Previewed for Destiny!

“I declare the favor of God goes before me today; it is in my past…”

Consider that 150 years before your birth, you are in God’s thoughts. He is lovingly placing you in a family line in a place and time. He is silently, secretly forming you with excellence, with design, with purpose, with significance for your generation in your location.

One hundred fifty years before the birth of a man who did not know Yahweh, God spoke through the Prophet Isaiah about a liberator who would shepherd Israel to rebuild Jerusalem and lay the foundation for the Temple.

Cyrus the Great’s name burned like coals on the lips of the prophet. God’s favor preceded the birth of this one who would be remembered as a liberator founding the greatest empire of all time, a confederacy that would flourish for 200 years.

God knew this king; this king did not know God nor was he of Jewish descent yet he is mentioned with unconditional praise 22 times in the OT.

Flip from Isaiah to Jeremiah chapter one. Personalize God’s prophetic word to one of Israel’s finest, a son of Israel.

Before my mother was pregnant with me, You knew me.

Before the day of my birth, You chose me.

I have an appointment with destiny.

Before I ever entertained one thought, You are in my past.

David reminds all of us in Psalm 139:13-16

God, you are the one who knit me together, not dropping a single stitch. You designed me; you made me; you laid your hand of favor upon me!

I was your big secret; I was woven together where no one could see me. You know me through and through. You hem in my days with your hand upon me like a seamstress lays her hands lovingly on the fine handwork that finishes a new gown.

How precious is your painstaking effort on my behalf. Your thoughts towards me are so vast I cannot even count them.

    • Thank you, Vickie! Kind words. Isn’t God good? So amazing that he cradles us in his heart ages before our birth–that we are so special to the heart of the Father, that he has destiny for us as we flow with him in grace and truth. Truly mind-boggling!
