I love my Vita and her cohort Blendy. In regular speech, that is VitaMix and Blendtec.
Today is July–middle of July and it felt like a good day for soup–hot soup! So Vita was up for it.
Into the big container went last night’s leftover salad–romaine, cucumber, tomato, and broccoli–probably about 1-2 cups.
Then I added in a large carrot to sweeten the mixture and 1/3 avocado to provide those omega-3s.
A couple slices of sweet onion and a sprig of celery added some more interest.
Two cups of boiling Noevir Herbal Blend Tea and 1 packet of Agaricus rounded out the ingredients.
Turn it on and blend for a couple minutes and the nourishing blend heats up nicely.
I found some left over quinoa and a bit a wild salmon from last night’s dinner so tossed it in at the end and whirled it just briefly. It could have just as easily been a slice of chicken breast and some brown rice, or a cup of black beans, or a handful of corn chips.
I seasoned it with salt and pepper and it resonated with my soul.
Oh yes–it is healthy, too, and very low in calories! Did you know that people who consume soup eat fewer calories, lose more weight, and keep it off?
Curious about Agaricus? It is a mushroom originally from Brazil. Forty years of research later, Agaricus is the number one health food consumed in Japan, the land where the women live to be the oldest on earth and enjoy the longest number of healthy years.
What does it do? Agaricus supports the healthy functioning of the immune system with superior Polysaccharide Protein Compounds and Amino Acid Derivative. In lay terms–when others are under the weather, you’re soaring above the clouds!
My friend Amy, who is a nurse, shared a cup of soup with me. She marveled at the wonderful ingredients including the great omega-3s included in the blend. Very low calorie–very tasty–very nourishing food for your flourishing health–and quick and tasty to serve to a friend. Thanks, Vita! You’re a whiz in the kitchen–so I don’t have to be!
